There is no record of him in Virginia between 7 March 1628/9 and 21 Feb 1631/2. Whitelaw states that Edward and Sarah Joyne sold 100 acres to Charles Vanelson, it being the southwest corner of the whole tract (A172). In 1748 Vanelson (wife Tabitha) left to his son Charles, although another son Thomas was the heir-at-law. Nothing more was found on record about either, but in 1777 George Corbin sold 100 acres to Abel Taylor, stating that formerly it had been owned by Charles Vanelson.
