Land cause* | 2 June 1820 | William S. Lumber was named in a land cause on 2 June 1820 at Accomack Co, VA. In a partition suit of Edwards, et ux &c vs Willitt &c it was shown at that a certain George Willett late of this county departed this life on the 4 day of March, 1813, leaving a will dated 21 Jan. 1813, & leaving a widow Nancy Willett, now the wife of the said John B. Edwards, and the following children, to-wit: Elizabeth, Isaac, James, Edward, Sarah & George and no other children; that since the death of the said George Willett, to-wit: on the 10 May 1817, Edward, one of the children of the said George Willett, departed this life an infant & intestate; since the death of the said George Willett, to-wit: on the 15 day of June in the year 1817, your oratrix Nancy Willett intermarried with the said John B. Edwards; that the said George Willett directed his land on Metompkin to be divided equally between his said children; that on the 6 Sept. 1819, the said Isaac Willett, child of the said George Willett, dec., conveyed all his interest in said land to the said John S. Bundick; that on the 16 May, 1819, your oratrix Elizabeth intermarried with your orator William Lumboard; that at the time of his death the said George Willett was seized of a tract of land on Metompkin containing 50 acres which was directed by the said George Willett to be divided as follows; 1/3 to the said Nancy to be held by her and her husband John F. Edwards as dower during her life, the balance to be divided between the said John S. Bundick who purchased of said Isaac Willett, and William Lumbord and Elizabeth, his wife, and said James, Sally and George Willett &c.3 |
