To daughter Sally Mills $1,000, but if my Extrs. cannot raise $1,000 then she to be given Negroes that will amount in value of $1,000 & after the death of Solomon West the land whereon he lives on which I now hold a mortgage containing 10 acres & the balance of the Monger land & at her death to her children that may be then living. In case of the death of Sally Mills & her children now born & those which may be hereafter born, then to my 2 sons John Bull Jr. & Thomas Bull. To son John Bull Jr. the Joynes & Scott land adjoining him on every side & Negro Abel & my interest in Negro woman Mahala, they now being in the possession of my son John Bull Jr. The property now in the possession of William Bull & wife shall be made subject to the payment of $40 to my estate & the balance to William Bull & Susan his wife & all his children that are now born & those which may be born hereafter. The plantation whereon Elisha Bull now lives belonging to William H. B. Custis Esq. shall be carried on by my Extrs. in the same manner so long as Elisha Bull & W. H. B. Custis shall agree. Son John Bull Jr. shall charge no commission for settling my estate. Remainder to my 3 children John Bull Jr., Sally Mills & Thomas Bull. To Mary Isnard(?) $5 annually until $25 shall be paid. Son John Bull Jr. Extr., but if he dies before my estate is settled then I appoint my brother Southey Bull Sr., my son Thomas Bull & my friend James J. Ailworth Extrs. Witt: James J. Ailworth, Laban J. Gunter, Edmund Lilliston & Southey Bull Sr. Prob: The named Extr. John Bull Jr. refused to qualify & the widow relinquished her right & George P. Scarburgh & James J. Ailworth became Admrs. with Thomas R. Joynes, John B. Ailworth, William H. B. Custis & James McCollom securities.2 |
