Biography* | | Luther R. Hall, aged 20 and single and an oysterman, was living with his uncle Anthony L. Hall on Saxis in 1910. Luther Hall was one of 38 men sent to Camp Lee (Pen. Ent., 6 Apr 1918). Pvt. Luther Hall has returned home having received an honorable discharge from the Army. He was wounded by shrapnel in the leg and has been in a Washington hospital ever since his arrival from overseas. He bears the mark of battle by a slight limp (Acc News, 18 Apr 1919). Luther R. Hall was living with his Uncle Anthony Hall in the 1920 Census on Saxis. Luther R. Hall, aged 54 years and a waterman from Saxis, died on 13 Jul 1942 at the home of his sister, Mrs. George W. Marshall, at Saxis. Services were 15 Jul by the Rev. Forrest with interment in the Lewis Cemetery. He was a World War I veteran receiving injuries in action. He was survived by his sister (E.S. News, 17 Jul 1942). |

To 4 daughters Leah, Elizabeth, Levinah and Rosannah. Balance of estate to be divided between all my children and my grandaughter Sally William Broadwater and John Pitt Corbin. Executor: Son Robert. Witt: James Benston, James Jenkins, William Williams Jr. (Acc Wills &c. 1798-1800, p. 371). The 280 acre plantation was the Pigg Point plantation he had inherited from his father. The property remained in tact until 1832 when his son Robert (wife Elizabeth) sold 31 1/2 acres to Edmund Stant (Whitelaw, p. 1279).6 |
