The will was nevertheless recorded, and the last named daughter was Sibble. The heirs then came to an agreement, and an arbitration bond was recorded in the June 1776 Court minutes. Elijah Pigot was a signatory to that bond as a representative for Esther Fulford, and he seems to have signed separately as well, suggesting that he was or had been married to a Fulford.11 |

William Waterson sold 50 acres of this tract to William Scott, Jr. (probably from N34) saying it was where Marriott Parsons dwells. This deed is of interest as that land was bounded on the south by William Scott, Sr; his land would be the subject tract, but how he obtained possession could not be discovered. In 1750 Scott, Sr., left to son William "my plantation which is called Marriotts." In 1804 a survey for Scott heirs showed 196 acres which includec the purchase from Waterson. The home and 75 acres just east of old Cabbin Branch went to son Thomas Scott and two years later he sold to Thomas S. Stockley who had married his sister Hannah.4 |
