Joseph was not mentioned in court records as son of Samuel, but in 1746, very soon after the settlement of the estate of Samuel, Joseph bought the part of the Cottels Ridge land that the first Samuel sold to Samuel Benson. For 20 pounds current money Samuel Benson sells to Joseph Beach land which Samuel Benson Sr. bought of the first Samuel Beach, lying next to land of Benjamin Beach, known by the name of Cottels Ridge.1 |
