Carroll had disassembled the old hotel in Franklin City, VA, hauled the lumber to Stockton, and used it to build a chicken house and a care-taker's house. The Bill Taylor family moved into the caretaker's house and Bill tended the flock of chickens. There, they lived for perhaps 4 years, and the children attended Stockton School. I do not know why or exactly when this arrangement ended.3 |

Lillie Grace Williams1
F, b. 1916, d. 1927
Birth* | 1916 | Lillie was born in 1916 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.1 |
Death* | 1927 | Lillie died in 1927 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA. According to her sister Euna (related in 2002 to Robert F. Jones), Lillie died of "complicated diseases." One day, she came home sick from school and "got down in bed" for a long time. Her lower body became so sensitive to touch that the family devised a cage-like apparatus to keep the blankets from direct contact with her skin. She would scream in pain if anything touched her. An autopsy was performed in vain with the hope that any findings might help others. .1 |
