Then in 1810 the Floyds exchanged their home of 56 acres with John Addison for his home place of 20 acres, the latter being the south part of his inherited land from tract N94. The home that the Floyds exchanged was "End View" or N95E which Joshua Robins built some time after his purchase of the land in 1775.9 |

Anecdote | 1800 | The Franktown United Methodist Church is the direct descendant of the Floyd's society, which was meeting in private homes in the Hadlock-Hare Valley area by 1795. Benjamin Floyd was the first leader of this society, which is said to have met at times in the parlor of the home "Fruitlands" in Hare Valley. Not long after 1800 they erected a meetinghouse in Hare Valley and named it Floyd's Meetinghouse. Leadership fell to Matthew Floyd, son of Benjamin(?), and when he moved to Accomack County, the old meetinghouse was abandoned.10 |
