Conquest sold 138 acres of this tract to William H. Green of Baltimore. In more recent years it was the home of the late John W. Taylor. In the 1811 deed it was called RED BANK; some still call it that, but more generally perhaps it is called GREEN FARM. Part of the existing house may be old, but it has been changed so much that neither a description of picture seems justified. At the bottom of the bank behind the house, at the head of a dredged branch, is now (1950) located the Taylor Yacht Basin, which is a favorite pleasure spot for boat owners in the summer season.4 |
