This information was obtained from Guslin Vennettson's wife, who had been summoned to answer for nursing a base child that was "acknowledged to be named Peregrin Johnson and born of the body of Rhodia Fawset." Since William Tayler, by entertaining Rodia Fawset, had caused "much trouble and charge to the parish," he was ordered to answer the objections against him. It was further ordered that the sheriff summon Guslin Ventetson's wife and Elizebeth Ratclif (widow) as witnesses.5

The sheriff (Capt. Thomas Welburne) had returned an endorsed copy of the order, declaring that he had summoned Custis to this court to answer, with Capt. Henry Custis assuming to be security. Birth*12 February 1676/77John was born on 12 February 1676/77 at Marumsco Section, Som Co, MD.2
Will - GrFath's*16 February 1687John was named in his grandfather's will on 16 February 1687 at Somerset Co, MD. He was shown as John Dennis in the will of Roger O'Cane.3
Marriage*circa 1700He married Sarah (-----) circa 1700. The Upshur Family in Virginia, p. 32, footnote 98 on the ancestors of Littleton Dennis, show Sarah as the daughter of Col. Southy Littleton (1645-1679). However, The Littleton Heritage by Matthew Wise, p. 8 discounts this, showing Sarah as the wife of Adam Michael (d. 1689) and John Custis III (d. 1714). Lynn Perry in his 1963 report Dennis & Co also showed her as a Littleton, but not a daughter of Col. Southy Littleton, but a possible daughter of John Littleton of Guilford, Acc Co, VA. However John Littleton's (of Back Creek) will of 15 Sep 1718 did not name a daughter Sarah nor any Dennis grandchildren.4,5,2
Biography*1700He was of "Beverly" near Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.4
Marriage*circa 1710John Dennis married Elizabeth Day, daughter of George Day, circa 1710. Lynn Perry states that Elizabeth may have been a daughter of George Day, but the records are not positive. Becky Miller reports that George Day was in the Pocomoke River area of Somerset as indicated by a 1674 debt case and from 1666 to 1672 he owned Crambrook in Pitts Creek Hundred. More research would have to be done to see if George had a daughter named Elizabeth, but the time period and location are right.6
Will - Father's*16 February 1716/17John was named in his father's will on 16 February 1716/17. He was shown as son John in the will of Donnack Dennis, wife Ellis. He also named a grandson Donnock, son of John Dennis.
Death*1741He died in 1741 at Somerset Co, MD.4,2
