On 8 Aug 1667, a 100 acre tract of land was surveyed for William Killman; the tract was called "Killman's Range" and it was located on James Island. Dorchester Land Record 1 OLD 22 dated 13 Nov 1669, identifies the wife of William Killman as Judith. Killman sold "Killman's Range" on 28 May 1673 (DLR 3 OLD 1). The Dorchester Land Records show that William Killman was a party to several land transcations (Mowbray Calvin W., (ITAL:)First Dorchester Families(:ITAL), Family Line Publications, Westminster, MD, 1984, p. 80). |

Biography* | Judith, wife of William "Killman," and their daughter Margery, were transported to Maryland in 1665 and somehow in the next few years they came into possession of part of "Armstrong's Folly" a tract of four hundred acres which had been patented in 1662 by Franics Armstrong of Dorchester and Talbot Counties. In 1669 William and Judith Killman sold two hundred acres of land called "Armstong's Folly" to Robert Lambdin for six thousand pounds of tobacco and purchased two hundred acres on James Island (which is at the mouth of the Little Choptank River in Dorchester Co) called "Long Point" (Twig and Turf, p. 249). | |
