It should also be noted that the Edward Chandler referred to by Thos. R. Chandler was probably the one referred to in the records as Edward B. John was listed as a sailor and perhaps this explains why he was not listed in the 1850 census. Evidently, John and Virginia had no children of their own, but raised his brother Samuel's son, Alfred. There is no direct proof that John was the son of John Henry Killmon and Nancy Parkes, but the fact that he raised Samuel's son Alfred. |
