Brittingham, age 70, died Saturday in the Peninsula General Hospital, following a brief illness. Born in Saxis, Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Sally Shaw. She had lived in Greenbackville for about 18 years. She is survived by her husband, Norman M. Brittingham, Greenbackville; a daughter, Mrs. James Crowley, Salisbury; two sons, William E. Brittingham, Philadelphia, and Claton M. Brittingham, Greenbackville; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Wilson, Exmore, Mrs. Clayton Bennett and Mrs. James Bowden, both of Chester, Pa; and five brothers, Elwood, John, and Willis Shaw, all of Cape Charles and Orris and Otho Shaw, both of Chester, Pa. Funeral services were to be held today at 2 p.m. in the Dennis and Watson Funeral Home, Pocomoke City, with the Elder Robert L. Kirk, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, of which Mrs. Brittingham was a member, officiating. Interment will be in Portersville Methodist Cemetery, Stockton.5 |
