It was signed by William (his X mark) Bailey. (Note: This document did not actually give his birth date, but did prove that his mother was a sister of Mrs. Betsey Wessels, who was Betsy Bayly, orphan of Robert, and married Walter Wessells on 6 Mar 1823.
