Her busband, a leading member of society in the Jacksonion era was distinguished in law and politics. Other than her husband, Thomas H. Bayly, descendants in Richmond are the members of the E.G. Higginbotham's family of "Ravenswood." Mrs. Higginbotham was Mrs. Bayly's eldest daughter. For the last 20 years of her life, she lived at her Franklin Street residence with her grand-daughter, the wife of J.C. Brockenbrough. According to the PE 22 Sep 1888, Jane O. Bayly, died at aged 96, and was the widow of the Hon. Thomas M. Bayly, mother of Mrs. E.G. Higginbotham, grandmother of C.P.E. Burgwyn, Mrs. Cabell Brockenbrough and Mrs. Henry Gibson. (NOTE: The 1880 Census for Richmond, Henrico Co, VA, page 6c, shows a C.P.E. Burgwyn, a 27 year old son, born in NC, of the head of household, Anna Burgwyn, age 61, born in MA.
