Marriage*2 June 1885She married Dr. John W. Bowdoin, son of Dr. John Robert Bowdoin and Amanda W. Hinman, on 2 June 1885 at Louisanna.2
Death*9 January 1902Flora E. Himel died on 9 January 1902 at Accomack Co, VA, at age 37. Obituary printed in a special dispatch of "The Times". Onancock, Virginia, January 10, 1902 - Mrs. Flora Himel Bowdoin, wife of Dr. John W. Bowdoin died this morning at the residence of her husband, bear Bloxom, in Accomac county. She was thirty eight years old, and had been ill for about ten days with pneumonia.
She was a native of St. James' Parish, Louisiana and was educated at the Virginia Episcopal Female Seminary. She was a lady of many graces and personal attractions. She was very active in charitable and religious work and was mainly instrumental in the erection of the beautiful Episcopal Church at Bloxom. Before the church was built she had, for several years, a large Sunday school at her own house and as superintendent conducted it with great success. Her kindness to the poor was unbounded. Her husband, who has for years had a large practice, has frequently carried to his poor patients delicacies prepared by the hands of this tender-hearted lady. Her death is a great loss to her family, her church and the community in which she lived.
She is survived by her husband, one daughter, her mother and a brother, all of whom were with her at the time of her death. Her remains will be buried tomorrow at the old Bowdoin bury ground near Eastville, in Northampton county.1

Marriage*circa 1855He married Susan B. Yerby, daughter of Dr. George Teackle Yerby and Charlotte Hack Jacob, circa 1855.1
Death*17 October 1893Col. Richard Henry Rush died on 17 October 1893 at Philadelphia, PA, at age 68. Col. Richard Henry Rush was a Civil War Union Army Officer. After graduating from the United States Military Academy in 1846 (26th out of 59), he served in the Mexican War as a Lieutenant in the 2nd United States Artillery. After the outbreak of the Civil War he was appointed as Colonel and commander of the 6th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry. The unit was the only Union cavalry regiment to be issued European-styled lances, and were thus nicknamed "Rush's Lancers". The weapon was impractical, and the regiment never used them in combat. Colonel Rush led his volunteer unit, which served in a brigade comprised of Regular Army cavalry regiments, in the Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg campaigns, being most distinguished at the Battle of Brandy Station, Virginia (June 9, 1863). General John Buford often referred to Colonel Rush's regiment as "my other Regulars".1

Birth*21 March 1889Marvin Keener Evans was born on 21 March 1889 at Harborton, Accomack Co, VA.1,2
Death*18 May 1910He died on 18 May 1910 at Cooper Hospital, Camden, NJ, at age 21. Lying side by side in the Cooper Hospital, Camden, Edward C.(sic) (Egbert G.), 51 years old and his son, Marvin, 21 years old, of Harburton, Va., died yesterday afternoon within half an hour of each other. Beside them was the wife and mother, who came from the Virginia city to look after her stricken ones.
The younger Evans was one of the victims of the explosion aboard the tugboat Cape Charles last Saturday week. He was frightfully scalded, and his condition was such that his death was expected. Then it was his father came up to look after his boy, his constant vigil resulting in a collapse. He was placed on a cot. Then the wife and mother came up from Harburton and did what she could for husband and son. Twenty minutes after 4 o'clock the son passed away, and ten minutes to 5 o'clock the father expired.
The son's death makes the fifth fatality resulting from the explosion. Another son of the latter is now at sea on his way to New York. He had been appraised by wireless of the serious condition of his father and brother and was expected to arrive at the hospital in a few days.1
Burial*Marvin was buried at St. George Ep Church Cemetery, Pungoteague, Accomack Co, VA.2
