Birth*7 January 1959John Paul Baumgardner was born on 7 January 1959 at Nassawadox, Northhampton Co, VA.1
Death*31 October 2019He died on 31 October 2019 at Melfa, Accomack Co, VA, at age 60. John Paul Baumgardner, 60, husband of the late Joan Marie Baumgardner, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his son’s residence in Melfa, VA. A native of Onancock, VA, John was born on January 7, 1959 in Nassawadox, VA to the late Robert Howard Baumgardner and Frances Chester Baumgardner.
John was a lifelong waterman, and for the past several years he worked alongside his buddy, Timmy Pruitt. He enjoyed being outdoors, and if he wasn’t on the water, you’d find him in his yard. John loved cutting grass, and often did so, whether it needed it or not. Over the last several months John was unable to go outdoors as he used to, so he began studying the bible. His faith became a source of strength and hope, as he knew he’d be reunited with his beloved wife and others who went before him.
Survivors include his children, Billy Baumgardner and Rachael of Melfa and Shirley Kelly and husband Jason of Temperanceville, VA; sister, Pam Taylor and husband John of Onley, VA, brothers, Eddie Baldwin and Florence of Onancock, Joe Baumgardner and wife Marie of New York, and Leroy Baumgardner and wife Laura of Onley; brother-in-law, Richard Colonna of Exmore, VA; grandchildren, Alexis, Cheyenne, Anthony, Savannah, Haley and Jason; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Colonna.
A service to celebrate John’s life will be held at the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 3:00 p.m., with The Reverend Robert Fletcher officiating.
Contributions in John’s memory may be made to the SPCA, P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418.1
