Anecdote* | He received a warrant for service, moved to Missouri about 1820, married Margaret Kincheloe Davis, had 5 sons, and died in 1839. Dexter Taylor assumed, maybe erroneously, that they used the naming convention that was common for Eastern Shore, since the second son was named Cornelius Davis (Margaret's father), third son, Thomas (his name). First son was James Monroe Taylor - so his father's name might be James - but that was also the president who "signed" his land grant paperwork, so... The 5th son, Isaac, named his first son Thomas Teagle Taylor and his daughter Margaret Kincheloe Taylor.3 |
