She retired in 1982 from the King Edwards Cigar Factory after 32 years of service. The survivors include a daughter, Imajean Mock of Waycross; three sons, Roy L. Revels (wife Jackie) of Waycross, Jerry Revels of Lebanon, TN and Larry Revels (wife Sadie) of Millwood; 19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; two sisters Rudeen Chaney Lee of Groveland, FL and Della Davis of Kingsland; two brothers, Clinton Chaney of Melbourne, FL and L.C. Chaney of Jacksonville, numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday (October 18, 2007 at the University Boulevard Church of God. The burial will be in the Kettle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Music Funeral Home.1 |

Anecdote* | 1910 | "Wards Corner is at the intersection of Granby Street and Little Creek Road. A century ago, it was a small crossroads amid Norfolk County farm fields. That changed when Alfred Ward opened a combination grocery store and Texaco filling station in 1910. It operated for decades on the site where a Rite Aid is now. The area was named for the Ward family. Stories differ on how the name came about, but a popular one has it that a Ford car dealer wanted people to know they could buy French-made tin from Mr. Ward. In 1914, he printed up dozens of signs that said "Mr. Ward wants to see you at Wards Corner."5 |

Brown was the only active official involved with reorganizing the library so they could take advantage of the State-aid and other agencies through which many new books and a wider range of books could be secured at little or no cost. She was a powerful woman, a leader in her community, had a great influence on her grandson Frank H. Pierce III's upbringing and deserves credit for his love of history and country.5 |
