Obituary - Sister's* | 14 December 1882 | He was named in his sister's obituary on 14 December 1882 at Baltimore City, MD. Miss Mary M. Taylor, aged 27 years, who was so severely burned at the residence of her uncle, Mr. A.B. Haynes, of No. 294 West Lombard Street, on Tuesday night, died at 6 o'clock yesterday morning. She was conscious to the last. Dr. Tinsley, coroner, decided that her death was accidental, and declined to hold and inquestl. Miss Taylor occupied a room with her cousin, Mrs. J.A. Sanders, on the second floor, and went to her trunk for a desired article. As she stooped, her clothing brushed against a small stove, taking fire. She ran into the street, where the fire was put out by the driver of passing car and others. Miss Taylor was a daughter of the late Joseph H. Taylor, of Northumberland County, VA. She came to Baltimore about 8 years ago. Her brother, Thomas W. Taylor, is the customs officer at Onancock, VA and her sister Mrs. N.E. Reynolds, lives in Richmond County, VA. Miss Taylor was a member of Lee Street Baptist Church. The remains will probably be taken to Virginia for interment.7 |

Robertson to Salisbury hospital on Tuesday night to be operatad on for appendicitis. The operation was performed by Dr. Dick immediately after the arrival of the train and the patient is doing well. The illness of Mr. Thomas W. Taylor Jr., reported in another column, terminated fatally on Thursday and his remains arrived at Tasley station for interment by early train Friday morning. In reporting his death, we voice the sentiment of all who knew him, in saying that it is received with sincere sorrow and regret by them. He had not reached the twentieth year of his ago but in his brief life had shown hat he had a career of usefulness ahead of him. He was a young man of fine business capacity and with gifts as a writer in many branches of literary work. With his industrious habits and congenial temperament he would have won success in many sphere of life. His parents, Mr. Thomas W. Taylor and wife, and three sisters, Misses Fannie, Constance and Bessie survive him. Funeral services today 11 a.m. at Protestant Episcopal Church, Onancock.
