John, Jr., ran up to catch her, but she leaped into the cornfield. When John went in after her to turn her out, she leaped into the yard. That was when "old John Lecatt took her and put a rope about her neck and tied her in the sheep house. Next morning, young Jno. Lecatt took a switch and beat her at the end of the lane by his father's order, and old Jno. Lecat took a piece of a bedsted and plugged up her tail into it."
