Est settm't* | 1851 | Her estate was settled in 1851 at tract N12, south & west of Capeville, Northampton Co, VA. In 1761 Nathaniel L. and Anne Savage sold 550 acres to John Guy, and 4 years later they sold the balance to John Stratton. This was a curved tract of land begining at the bayside road and extended westward along the Tompkins part and the Great Pond to the Bay, up that to the present Elliott's Creek, then southeastward to the road again. In 1771 John Guy (wife Susan) left to son John. In 1795 John Guy (wife Elizabeth) left his estate to 2 unnamed children; from the next record it is determined that one of the children must have been a son Thomas H. Guy who ultimately had sole ownership. In 1841 commissioners sold the land of Elizabeth A. Guy, which she had inherited from her father Thomas H. Guy, to James B. and Robert J. Poulson; the latter soon purchased the interest of the former. (NOTE: Evidently it was 1851 instead of 1841.)4 |

Anecdote* | | Lacking more direct proof the assumption that Nathaniel J. The tradition of the times was that a son, brother or uncle would be named administrator and other sons, brothers or uncles would be among the securities. In this case Fisher W. Bradford (a security) was shown as a son of Abel & Sally Bradford on his 2nd marriage in 1877, therefore it is assumed that he and Nathaniel J. Bradford (the administrator) were brothers of Thomas J. Bradford.3 |

Mr. Dillard (a neighbor according to his wife Jean) insisted and was thought to have paid - and Russell graduated near the top of his class. He worked for Mr. Dillard and then went out on his own. At some point during the war, he and his wife (Margaret) moved to Portland, Maine. No one knows what he did there. After Maine, he went to NYC to work.
