She was married to Col. Custis Kendall Sr. (son of William Kendall III and Sorrowful Margaret Custis) in 1746 in Northampton County, Va.. Col. Custis Kendall Sr. was born in 1708 in Northampton County, Va.. He died in 1781 in Northampton County, Va.. Elizabeth Bowdoin and Col. Custis Kendall Sr. had the following children:
