Katherine Clark of Kent Co. for the good will and affection I have towards William Manlove, dec'd., and Susanna his wife of same co. have given unto William Manlove son of the afsd. Wm. Manlove, dec'd., and Susanna his wife, one 2 year old heifer and her increase conditionaly, that is one half of the increase of the said heifer to William Manlove and the other half of the increase to the said Wm. Manlove his father in law until the said William Manlove arrive to the age of 16 years and after ye age he the said William Manlove is to have the full power and priviledge of and belonging to the heifer and her increase forever, but if this William Manlove happen to die under age then the heifer and her increase is to remain unto Elizabeth Manlove sister of the afsd. William and in case Elizabeth Manlove happen to die under age then the heifer and her increase is to remain with Susanna Winsmore mother of the above said William and Elizabeth Manlove of same co.1

Land sold*10 November 1766He sold land on 10 November 1766 at head of Marshyhope, Mispillion Hundred, Kent Co, DE. Matthew and John Manlove, executors of the will of George Manlove, late of Little Creek Hundred Kent Co. yeoman, dec'd., we being sons of the said George Manlove and of the same place for money already paid confirm unto Samuel Griffen a parcel of land whereon he now dwells by virtue of two warrants granted to our father dated at Philadelphia 21 April 1735 there was surveyed by Hugh Durborow then surveyor of Kent Co. on 29 and 30 May following a tract of land in the forrest of Mispillion Hundred on the head of Marshyhope including a piece called Pond Neck, and the survey being so made was returned into the Surveyor Generals Office at Philadelphia by Hugh Durborow, but for some reason the return was not received but together with many others filed in a bundle now known by the name of Durborows Rejected Bundle, and whereas our father soon after sold the said tract agreeable to the said survey in sundry parcels seperately to sundry persons, and whereas discovery hath lately been made by Saml. McCall now deputy surveyor of said co. that the return made by Hugh Durborow was rejected, and that on discovery thereof our father promised to convey again to the several purchasers now in possession so that nothing should be lacking on his side, copies of warrants are lately sent to said Saml. McCall to survey the tract and make return, in pursuance to which the survey was made 11 Jun 1766, and whereas our father hath not lived to fullfill his promise and we being desirous to fullfill every just contract made by our father and we being enabled by his will and we finding that a certain Samuel Griffen and Thomas Wyatt had purchased a quantity of said tract in partnership and they afterwards made partition thereof and passed releases between them, and Samuel Griffen is still in possession of his 1/2 part of said purchase, beginning at land now in the possession of Elijah Morris to s. side of Miery Arm, to land formerly belonging to Thomas Wyatt but now belonging to John Crumpton, to land called New Bern, 253 3/4 a.5

John Williams in 176- by his petition to the Orphans Court praying to appoint 5 substantial freeholders to divide the premisses, which was granted and who made a return that the premises would not bear a division, on 16 Dec 1763 Court appointed Thomas Clark esqr, William Rhodes and Zachariah Goforth, who valued the same at 17 shillings, 6 pence per a., Mark Manlove being the eldest brother accepted the several lotts and shares.7

(Book M, fol. 199) and in his will did direct the afsd. land should be disposed of excepting 50 a. which he left unto his grandson Matthew Manlove son of Absalom Manlove. Whereas Mark Manlove and Ebenezer Manlove of Kent Co. yeoman are the surviving executors of the said Mark Manlove, dec'd., and according to the direction of the said will and for £90 they doth sell the afsd. land excepting the 50 a. unto Zachariah Goforth of same place, yeoman, beginning at Indian Branch ... 137 a.8 
Death*before 2 November 1772He died before 2 November 1772 at Kent Co, DE. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Ebenezer Manlove was granted to Sarah Manlove and Asa Manlove. Mark Manlove and Nathan Manlove both of Kent Co. doth agree that they together with their wives shall clear of all incumbrances and convey unto William Carpenter of New Castle Co. part of two tracts of land, one called Hathers Adventure and the other called Edmunds Choice which deed shall be with general warrantee, William Carpenter doth agree that if Mark Manlove and Nathan Manlove shall before or at the next May Court clear the land afsd. from the supposed incumbrances and make over the deed, then William Carpenter doth promise to pay £100 at the May Court, £100 on 1 May 1760 and £100 more 1 Oct 1760 which several sums of money together with £100 in hand paid by William Carpenter to Mark Manlove is in full consideration for the afsd. tracts of land which are the same whereon Mark Manlove and Nathan now lives 450 a. ... penal sum of £1000.10

Heathards Adventure and whereas the said Mark Manlove the elder being seized afsd. did on 14 May 1747 convey to the said Mark Manlove party hereto 207 a. part of the said tract called Heathards Adventure (Book M fol. 173) and also 38 a. another part of Heatherds Adventure (Book O fol. 23) and Mark Manlove the elder by his will bearing date 1747 did devise to said Nathan Manlove his grandson all the remaining part of the land and plantation whereon he then dwelt part of the afsd. two tracts of land, 300 a. and 150 a.14

Williams and my daughter Gerthy Nangisell and to daughter Susannah Manlove I give and bequeath to my son Aaron Williams three hundred and fifty acres of land and marsh joining upon Swan Creek but my will is that my son Reynear shall have an equal privilege in the said marsh with my son Aaron and my will is also that my son Aaron shall not sell the afsd. land to any person and persons but to my son Reynear during the life of my said son Aron ITEM I give and bequeath unto my above said son William three hundred acres of land joining upon the head of my said son Aaron's land and running up along the said Swan Creek and also my will is that my son William shall not sell the said land to any person or persons but to my son Reynear ITEM I give and bequeath to my daughters Catherine and Mary five shillings sterling in silver money each of them ITEM I give and bequeath to my son Reynear Williams all the rest of my estate both real and personal and as afsd. Anno Dom 1709 Lewis Aways and Archibald Douglas two of the witnesses to the above written will personally appeared before us John Brinckloe and Arthur Meston Deputy Regs. for the County of Kent on Delaware and made oath that they did see the above named Reynear Williams Sr. sign and seal and heard him publish and declare the above instrument of writing to be his last will and testament and that he the said Reynear Williams at the time of the doing thereof was of a sound and disposing mind and memory to the best of their knowledge In Testimony whereof we the said John Brinckloe and Arthur Meston have here unto set our hands the day and year above written.
