That a certain Thomas Biggs, late of this county, being in his lifetime and at the time of his death, seized and possessed of and in one messuage and plantation, with all the appurtenances, in fee simple, containing 200 acres, more or less, and adjoining the lands of Nathaniel Widgeon and others, and the following negro slaves, to-wit: Lity, Jim, Sarah, old Rachel, young Rachel and Bridget, and being so thereof seized and possessed upon the __ day of __ 1805(sic), departed this life intestate, leaving a widow, viz: Nancy Biggs and four children, to-wit: your oratrix Sukey, who has since intermarried with your orator, and the infant defendants John, Nancy and Molly Biggs, to whom all the aforesaid lands and slaves descended, equally to be divided.3

Court - plaintiff*17 October 1800She was a plaintiff in a court case on 17 October 1800 at Northampton Co, VA. At a court held for the Eastern Shore District (Acc & N'hamp Co) of Virginia on 17 Oct 1800 in a case (writ of right) between Peggy Scott & George Scott, alias Geo. Scott vs. John Gleeson Senr. it was recorded that: Henry Scott Senior of N'hamp Co by his will recorded in N'hamp Co dated 19 Jan 1731 devised to his son Henry Scott, and he inturn sold to Caleb Scott, eldest son & heir of the said Henry Scott. Caleb Scott died in the lifetime of his father Henry Scott leaving 4 children to wit: Peggy Scott one of the demandants, Patience, Nancy & Betsy Scott, all of whom were at the time of the death of Caleb Scott under age. The said Nancy Scott died in 1784 an infant without issue, Patience Scott died in 1784 under age and without issue, and Betsy Scott died in 1787 under age and leaving issue a natural son George Fisher alias George Scott the other demandant. Henry Scott the younger sued to dock the entails on the property and on 15 Aug 1770 Henry Scott the younger sold to Jno. Harmanson which was recorded in the general court. On 13 Feb 1771 John Harmanson sold to Teackle Robins. On 21 Jul 1774 Teackle Robins wrote his will in Northampton County and on 13 Aug 1777 John Robins, extr. of Teackle Robins and Teackle's widow Elizabeth Robins sold to Thos. Dalby Senr. On 10 Feb 1778 Thomas Dalby & wife Rachel sold to John Gleeson Senr, the present tenant. Judgment was for the demandant.2 
Land sold*1809She sold land in 1809 at tract N85, south of Nassawadox, Northampton Co, VA. In 1777 Thomas Dalby and his wife Rachel resold part of this tract to John Glison. In 1809 one Peggy Scott sold as 95 acres to John R. Waddey. The deed recited that she had made the sale previously in 1807 but that the land had been claimed by the heirs of John Gleason; as the suit had now been decided in her favor she gave this formal deed for the land. Two years later a George Fisher Jr., gave a deed for the same land to Waddey, calling it 111 acres, saying that it had been recovered by him and Peggy Scott.3 
Will*10 April 1809Peggy made a will on 10 April 1809 at Northampton Co, VA. I give to Mary Jacob Waddey daughter of John R. Waddey & her heirs the whole of the money that my land lately recovered from Gleeson's heirs may be sold for which said land I have lately conveyed to the said John R. Waddey to dispose of as he may think proper. I give to Eliza Smith Waddey daughter of the aforesaid John R. Waddey one hundred pounds in money. I give to Mary Jacob Waddy the whole of the remaining balance of my estate. John R. Waddey executor. In case of his death, William White Jr to be executor. Signed with her mark, Peggy Scott. Witnesses: Thos Lytt Savage, Wm Burton Savage Joshua Garrison.4

Land bought*1777John Gleason Sr. bought land in 1777 at tract N85, south of Nassawadox, Northampton Co, VA. Thomas Dalby and his wife Rachel resold part of this tract to John Glison. In 1809 one Peggy Scott sold as 95 acres to John R. Waddey. The deed recited that she had made the sale previously in 1807 but that the land had been claimed by the heirs of John Gleason; as the suit had now been decided in her favor she gave this formal deed for the land. Two years later a George Fisher Jr., gave a deed for the same land to Waddey, calling it 111 acres, saying that it had been recovered by him and Peggy Scott.3

On 21 Jul 1774 Teackle Robins wrote his will in Northampton County and on 13 Aug 1777 John Robins, extr. of Teackle Robins and Teackle's widow Elizabeth Robins sold to Thos. Dalby Senr. On 10 Feb 1778 Thomas Dalby & wife Rachel sold to John Gleeson Senr, the present tenant. Judgment was for the demandant.4

Land bought*1665Gilbert Skinner bought land in 1665 at tract N3, Northampton Co, VA. In 1658 Col. William Kendall and his wife Susanna Baker, the widow of Thomas Eyre and Francis Pott, sold Capt. Francis Pott's land to Thomas Moore and William Junis. In 1665 Junis had sold his half to Thomas Scott and Gilbert Skinner and the three owners now divided, with Moore getting 525 acres and Scott and Skinner each 262 1/2 acres. Skinner sold his to John Knight and Thomas and Ann Scott sold his quarter to William Kendall.1 
Death*circa 1666He died circa 1666 at tract N3, Northampton Co, VA. Bethula Skinner, as the widow of Gilbert, released her dower rights in this tract which her husband had sold to John Knight, who reassigned it to Col. William Kendall.2

John Widgen, a friend, gave the information. According to Benjamin A. Colonna Capt. Eldred R. Holt, died 13 Oct 1860, who was murdered by a negro who entered his store.4,2
