Daniel Weeks, Negro, showeth that he was bound by order of the Court as an apprentice to William Scott Sr., now dec'd, dying before the expiration of his, the said Daniel's term. By his will the said William devised the remaining term to be served to his son, Benjamin, who in turn sold the petitioner's term for a considerable sum to John Elligood, planter. Since the term is now up, neither the said Benjamin nor John, although often required to pay the freedom dues according to law, have offered to do so. Verdict for the plantif.1
