In his will he says he is Samuel of John. He is listed as Samuel of John and Nancy his wife in the Thorogood O. Kilmon family Bible. The dates in the Bible (1816) and on the tombstone (1819) are different by 3 years. Elane Kilmon Strange reports the tombstone birth as 19 Jan 1816, but Mary Frances Carey and Wayne Stith report it as 19 Jan 1819. The 1850 census puts his brith at 1815..1,2
