Biography*29 April 1916Mr. William G. Smith of Cape Charles, familiarly known among his many friends in Northampton County as "Bill," who has purchased from farmers in this county, about 60,000 barrels of Irish potatoes in the past month, paying as high as $2.50 per barrel, giving them in some instances a little needed "cash" to carry on their farming. Mr. Smith has been engaged in the commission business about 25 years, and understands the business pretty thoroughly. He is representing Messrs. Oscar Frommel & Bro., of New York the biggest potato exporters in the world; Messrs. Albert Miller & Co. of Chicago, the largest potato dealers in the world, and also represents commission houses in St. Paul, Minneapolis, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and other cities, shipping potatoes all through the North, West, and to Manitoba and Montreal, Canada. Mr. Smith is the son of the late Peter B. & Kate Smith, and was born at Eastville on January 2, 1869, and is in his 47 year. In January 1895, he married Miss Nannie V. Wilson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moses T. Wilson, (---text unreadable -----) and have one child, Miss Lilliam Wilson Smith, who is in her 17th year. Mr. Smith is engaged in the farming business, as well as being connected with other business interests, making him one of Northampton's most prominent citizens.2

He was a member of several lodges and was on of the highest Masons of New York City. Interment was in Belle Haven Cemetery. The Wachapreague Lodge of Masons had charge of the burial. He is survived by his wife and child.1,2

He was the son of the late George Smith Milliner and Jennie Coxton Milliner, and his wife was the late Minnie Bennett Milliner. Mr. Milliner was a member of Drummondtown Baptist Church, Accomac. He is survived by a daughter Mrs. Lola Lewis of Parksley; four sons, Samuel Milliner Jr., and Robert E. Milliner both of Onancock; Walter T. Milliner of Gloucester Point, and Paul B. Milliner of Colonial Beach; three sisters Mrs. Lyde Clark of Onley, Mrs. Margie Budd and Mrs. Jennie Justis, both of Parksley, twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the graveside in Edge Hill Cemetery, Accomac, Wednesday, March 10.3,1 
Burial*Samuel was buried at Edgehill Cemetery, Accomac, Accomack Co, VA.3
