Birth*circa 1825Peter Holland was born circa 1825 at Worcester Co, MD.1
Death*before 7 September 1838He died before 7 September 1838 at Worcester Co, MD. It was on this date that administration on the estates of Tabitha Holland, Richard Holland, Betsy Holland & Peter Holland were granted to Zecheriah Bowen. While no distribution has been found for the estate of Tabitha Holland, Zecheriah Bowen turned in the settlement of Peter Holland's estate on 19 Feb 1840. It consisted of a balance of $54.91 to be divided $18.30 each to "his (Peter's) brothers John Holland and William Holland and to sister Sally Bowen." On the same date the $54.91 estate of Elizabeth Holland was to be divided between the same 3 people. Richard Holland's estate of $54.91 was to go to the same 2 brothers and sister. These records show that Peter Holland, Betsy Holland, Richard Holland, William Holland, John Holland, and Sally Bowen were brothers and sisters and likely brothers and sisters of James Holland of James, who died in 1834, since John Holland was to settle his estate as well.2
Anecdote*1839 Since it seems that James Holland's 2nd family all died in 1838, it is wondered if they were the victims of a house fire.3

Anecdote* He was of Dunwich, Suffolk.
Family and Education: son of John Humberston of Norwich by his 1st wife Elizabeth, daughter of John Clarke of Loddon, Norfolk married circa 1549, Dorothy, daughter of Robert Spring of Pakenham, 3sons 1daughter.
Offices Held: Surveyor of north parts, duchy of Lancaster 1558-d., of south parts 1559-d; gen. surveyor 1559, 1561; j.p. Suff. from c.1573; surveyor of crown lands in Suff; receiver of crown lands, Norf., Norwich, Hunts. 1571.
Biography: Humberston was a duchy official who compiled at least three surveys: of the forfeited lands of Henry, Earl of Devon; of duchy possessions in Staffordshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Warwickshire; and, together with Edmund Hall, of the lands forfeited by the northern rebels in 1570. He owned property in London, including part of the late Blackfriars monastery. In East Anglia he had a house in Norwich, land in Lincolnshire and so much influence in and around Dunwich that the place was sometimes referred to as Humberston’s Cut.
