Court - named in ord*8 August 1706He was named in a court order on 8 August 1706 at Accomack Co, VA. Because of a precept issued by Capt. John Braudhurst, Abraham Lamberson was taken into custody "for relieving, aiding & harboring of William Whitt, suspected for a notorious felon." Capt. John Braudhurst had Abraham committed till this court; now when the sheriff brought him before the court, the evidence showed that Lamberson had indeed entertained Whitt, who was captured in Lamberson's house. Ordered that the sheriff keep Lamberson in custody till he posted a bond for 50 pounds sterling for his good behavior for a year and a day. Capt. John Braudhurst informed the court that the warrant he granted for taking and keeping Abraham Lamberson was taken from the hands of the constable by Richard Kittson, who "in a contemptuous manner spake several abusive words against ye said Capt. John Braudhurst as a justice of the peace and reflecting on him as a magistrate." Ordered that the sheriff summon Kittson to the next court along with any witnesses that could give evidence.4

In this case Levi & Smith Lamberson were the brothers of Casiah Lamberson, who is assumed to have been Sacker Lamberson's mother. Pitt informed the court that Richard Hill and his wife told him that the wife of Henry Lamberson (lately deceased) was suspected to be murdered by Henry Lamberson. The court issued a precept to bring Lamberson before the court; he now appeared, and the evidence was examined upon oath. It appeared that the evidence was not sufficient for further proceedings against Lamberson for the death of his wife, so he was discharged after paying court charges.2
