Anecdote*1610 He came to Virginia in the Star in 1610.2
Marriage*circa 1620He married Frances Lake circa 1620.1,3
Land patented*1623John Blower (Blore) patented land in 1623 at tract N30, Old Plantatin Neck, Northampton Co, VA. It was in this year that John Blower was given a patent in this tract for 150 acres. The record of this patent is now missing from the patent books, but knowledge of it was secured from an abstract taken from the first patent book many years ago. The 150 acres would have been due him as 100 acres for own adventure as an "Ancient Planter" and 50 acres for his wife Frances. In order to accont for his early appearance on the Shore, it was surmised at first that Blower might have been a survivor from the Dale's Gift detachment (salt works). However, among the Virginia patents listed in the early muster was one to him for 100 acres on the James River near "the Falles" which he had "surrendered for the use of the Iron Works." From this it seems more likely that he had previously been on the Western Shore, until he wandered across the bay for some unknown reason. His land was at the mouth of Old Plantation Creek on the north side.1
Muster*February 1624/25John was listed in the Muster of February 1624/25 at Eastern Shore, VA. He was shown as John Blore, age 27 who came in the Star in 1610. Listed with him was Frances Blore, age 25 who came in the London Marchant in 1620.
Servants listed with him were John Parramore, age 17, who came in the Bona Venture in 1622 and John Wilkins.4,2
Death*before 1628He died before 1628 at Northampton Co, VA. Blower left no will and the date of his death is unknown, but in this year Roger Sanders was granted a lease for 50 acres north of "John Blore dec'd," and south of the Fleet land. It is known that he left a son William to succeed him and that the widow Frances married Roger Sanders and then William Burdett.5
