Birth*circa 1784Robert Melson was born circa 1784 at Accomack Co, VA. The ages shown for Robert Melson in the 1800 thru 1840 census seem consistent, except 1830, which seems to be 10 years too early. Instead of age 50-60 he was probably age 40-50. With that one adjustment, he was evidently born circa 1784, which puts his birth before his father's marriage to the widow Ann 'Nancy' Fitzgerald in 1791.2,3,4

University of Virginia - 9 Feb - John Parker Hopkins Jr., aged 20, of Onancock, VA, a stundent in the academic department at the university, died this morning at the university hospital of typhoid fever contacted while at home for the Christmas holidays. His father is a merchant at Onancock, VA. The school adjourned today out of respect.1,2
