Birth*1901Blanche Willett was born in 1901 at Accomack Co, VA.1
Anecdote*1902 In Dec 2013 Blanche's granddaughter Sharon Hayden inquired locally regarding who Blanche's biological father might have been. Caroline Lewis reported that Blanche's father was a Bundick from Parksley and that Blanche's half-sisters ran the Fashion Shop in Parksley. M.K. Miles then contacted Martha Simpson, another long time resident of Parksley and local genealogist, who reported that Jewel Bundick, who had married Columbus Chase, ran the dress shop when she was a young girl. She also reported that Jewel Bundick was the daughter of William T. Bundick (1867-1938) and his wife Sallie D. Wirght (1861-1932). The 24 Oct 1964 obituary of Charles T. Bundick, a son of William T. & Sallie Wright Bundick, stated that he was survived by a sister Jewel, the wife of Columbus Chase. So based on these reports William T. Bundick (1867-1938) was Blanche's biological father.3

Birth*26 July 1832John W. Stockley was born on 26 July 1832 at Accomack Co, VA.2
Anecdote*circa 1860 John W. Stockley was reared and educated in his native state (Virginia) and at the age of 17 was attracted to California, shortly after the news of the discovery of gold reached the East. He sailed around the Horn in 1849 and while in California was one of those fortunate in acquiring considerable wealth. After several years he returned to Virginia and then in the early 1850s traveled overland across country to Texas. For over 20 years his home was in the vicinity of Rockport in Aransas County, where he engaged in ranching and where he was considered one of the wealthiest men in that section, owning many thousands of cattle and horses and a great tract of land. He left the Texas Gulf coast to find a site for a home and in 1878 located in Uvalde County, establishing his headquarters 20 miles northwest of Uvalde on the Nueces River, where his home was close to a spring of cool water among the shade trees. In this attractive locality he lived out his life. He was always progressive in matters of business and citizenship and he had something the spirit of adventure in his later life, which as a youth promoted him to go out to the wilds of California. For a man of his generation he was unusually well traveled, having visited many foreign countries, and having made a trip completely around the world. He never lost the culture of a real Virginian, although many years of his life were spent on the frontier and he was a man among men of that type and character. He came to Uvalde County when there was a stern hostility against fence building and he lived through the era of fence cutting and was one of the first ranchers to fence in his own domain. Mr. Stockley was 3 times married. He married at Rockport, Texas, Louise Pollen, and the only child of that union is George S., a rancher at Roswell, New Mexico. His second wife was Josephine Bailey, and Annie, wife of J.R. Skiles of Langtry, Texas, is a child of that union. His third wife was Louise Franklin, a native of Florida. They were married at Rockport, Texas, in 1876, and she died at Laguna in Uvalde County, 20 May 1918. She was the mother of 6 children: Eula, wife of F.O. Landrum of Laguna, Uvalde County; Miss Henrietta; John W., a rancher at Uvalde; Franklin C., who has ranching interests in Old Mexico; Charles T., a rancher at Montell in Uvalde County; and Miss Louise. Miss Henrietta and Miss Louise now occupy "Stockley Ranch" at Laguna. The are capable business women and were liberally educated in music and art and have always been lovers of the outdoors, spending much of their time in the saddle, and are experts in the use of fire arms. John W. Stockley was not a seeker for public honors, though he always voted as a Democrat and exercised considerable influence in his community. He believed in the teaching of he Christian religion, was active in the Masonic fraternity and a great lover of music. He employed a private tutor and governess to educate his children on the home ranch. His ranch home was a meeting place for many prominent people and he entertained them in true southern style.2
Death*5 May 1893He died on 5 May 1893 at Uvalde Co, TX, at age 60.2
