In his will of 1700 his son Thomas having died without issue, Colonel Tilney now left the same land to his daughters Mary and Martha, but the later disappeared from the records. In 1728 John Hawkins Sr., and his son of the same name name sold the 100 acres to Marriott Parsons, saying the land had come to them by the marriage of the senior Hawkins to Mary Tilney.3
