Birth*circa October 1680Joseph Lankford Sr. was born circa October 1680 at Somerset Co, MD. Matt Wise shows b.c. Oct 1680 and that he was in Somerset Co, MD, at Annemessex by 1698/99. Wise also states that it has usually been assumed that he was a son of John Lankford, who had settled by 1677 on the south side of the Nanticoke River, but the available evidence does not support the connection.3
Living*1698/99He was living in 1698/99 at Annemessex, Somerset Co, MD. Matt Wise shows that he was in Somerset Co, MD, at Annemessex by 1698/99. Wise also states that it has usually been assumed that he was a son of John Lankford, who had settled by 1677 on the south side of the Nanticoke River, but the available evidence does not support the connection. However, if there is no record of him being transported into Maryland, then it seems likely that he was born in Somerset County and this earlier John Lankford would be the only possible father.3
Marriage*circa 1700He married Alice Pusey, daughter of William Pusey I and Alice Planner, circa 1700.1,3,4
