Birth*circa 1750Elisha Holloway was born circa 1750 at Worcester Co, MD.1,2
Marriage*circa 1771He married (-----) (-----) circa 1771 at Worcester Co, MD.
Anecdote*1783 Elisha Holloway was not in either Thomas Sr. or Thomas Jr.'s wills and is assumed to be the son of the older Thomas only because Ebenezer Holloway administered his will. Elisha was old enough to have owned land in 1783 Worcester Co, Buckingham Hundred Tax List, with 257 acres of Rachel's Discovery. In 1786 he bought 100 acres of Hog Quarter. The inventory of Elisha's estate when closed in June 1795 mentioned no heirs but he had £228:19:2. Elisha had been in Capt. Dales Co. on 25 July 1780. He died before Tom Sr. & Tom Jr. He was not in the 1790 census. Thomas Sr. seemed about the only one old enough to have been his father and to have an extra male over 16. On 25 Aug 1784 Elisha paid £30 to the Justices for maintenance of illegitimate male child born of Denney Gray. The child was not named. As a guess, Milby Holloway might have been that child as he seemed to be with the family but not of the family and used farm tools of the others. This Milby may have been the father of a Lemuel who does not fit with the others. Milby may have been the father of the Thomas Holloway born in 1805 and showed up in the census only once in 1850 in Baltimore Hundred, Sussex Co, DE, with a wife Elizabeth & 8 children.3
Death*before 29 August 1794Elisha Holloway died before 29 August 1794 at Worcester Co, MD. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Elisha Holloway was granted to Ebenezar Holloway with George Purnell and Joshua Hudson securities.1
Est inv filed*30 August 1794He's inventory was recorded on 30 August 1794 at Worcester Co, MD. It was on this date that Thomas Holloway and Joseph Holloway signed as next of kin on the inventory of Elisha Holloway, Ebenezar Holloway administrator.4
