Biography*The 10 month old infant of Mr. Lee Marshall, who resides near Messongo Wharf, was burned to death on Saturday last. The article explains how the house caught fire and was destroyed and how the child perished in the flames (Pen. Ent., 15 Jul 1893). Evidently this was Willie, who was actually 5 months old at the time, based on his Acc birth record.

He was a US Army Vet and worked as a waterman. The Daily Times showed him as Wayne Edward Marshall, 59, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at his home in Atlantic. Born in Saxis, he was the son of the late Preston and Delores Insley Marshall. Mr. Marshall was a Vietnam Army veteran and a member of the Disabled Veterans Association. He had worked for many years as a waterman. He is survived by 3 sons, Keth Marshall Sr. and his wife, Sonia, of Stockton, Wayne Marshall Jr. and his wife Billie Joe, of Stockton, and Shawn Marshall of Salisbury; 2 daughters Joni Yoder of New Church and Katrina Jenkins and her husband Jock, of Saluda, VA; one brother Bruce Marshall and his wife Heather of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 2 nieces and on nephew; and his beloved companion Dorothy Robinson. A memorial service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at Burbage Funeral Home in Snow Hill.1,3 
Burial*Wayne was buried at Downings Cemetery, Oak Hall, Accomack Co, VA. He is buried in an unmarked grave.1

Death*3 April 2013He died on 3 April 2013 at age 67. Mr. Robert Wayne “Wayne” Marshal, 67, of Bloxom, Virginia, passed away on April 3, 2013 at Arcadia Nursing Center in Nelsonia, VA. Born in Nassawadox, VA on May 14, 1945, he was the son of the late Charlie Clemons Marshall and Hazel Taylor Marshall. Wayne was retired from VDOT, having worked there for over 25 years. Wayne is survived by three sons, Robert Marshall, of Mappsville, VA, Charlie Marshall of Parksley, VA and Corey Marshall of Bloxom, VA; five grandchildren, Brooke Marshall, Kasey Marshall, Nathen Marshall, Austin Marshall and Jasmine Marshall; an aunt, Anna F. Taylor of Mappsville, VA; two uncles, Oliver Crip Taylor and Sherwood Taylor and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 7th at 2:00 PM from the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley, VA with Pastor Freddie Ward and Wayne Hart officiating. Interment will follow in the Marshall Family Cemetery on Guilford Road in Bloxom, VA. A reception will follow at the Bloxom Volunteer Fire Department. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7-9 PM at the funeral home in Parksley, VA.

Biography*Floyd Thomas Trader and his wife and 4 children were living next door to his parents in the 1900 Census. They had been married 12 years and had had 4 children, all living. Since no other record has been of the two younger children, it is assumed they died young. Mr. Floyd Thomas Trader, aged 64 years, died on 14 Jan 1935. Funeral services were by Rev. Wilmer and 3 others at Bethel Church. Survivors included his widow, 2 daughters and 2 sisters, all of who were listed (E.S. News, 18 Jan 1935).
