Biography*The 1880 Census showed her father was born in Maryland. The 1900 Census showed that she had 7 children and 5 were living. However, the 1910 Census showed that she had 7 children and 6 were living. Mrs. Matilda Jane Ellis died at home at Saxis on 18 Jan 1953, aged 94 years. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 22 Jan 1953).

According to a memorial newpaper clipping, written by his sister Mrs. Daniel Ball of Hallwood, VA, Heward Dennis drowned 3 years eailer, 4 Jul 1938. Mr. Howard G. Dennis of Saxis, VA, was drowned on 4 July 1937, aged 35 years (Pen. Ent., 12 Jul 1962 - 25 years ago)..4

Biography*Mr. Dolphan Griffin, grandson of Mr. I.W. Young, formerly of Saxis, but who now resides near Pocomoke City, MD, for the past 6-8 years, died Monday, 5 Dec 1921, of typhoid fever, age 21. He was survived by a wife and 2 children, P.M. & M. James Griffin (Pen. Ent., 10 Dec 1921). Mr. & Mrs. I.W. Young of Saxis were called Wednesday to Cokesbury, MD, to attend the funeral of their grandson, Mr. Dolphin Griffin (Acc News, 9 Dec 1921).

McCready was initiated into the Rechabites, Atlantic Tent No. 14, on 22 Sep 1894, he listed his age as 21 (b. 1873), occupation as oysterman, residence as Sanford and he was single. Mr. Robert Lee McCready died at Sanford on 10 Jul 1946, aged 71 years. He was buried in the Feddeman Cemetery. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 12 Jul 1946).
