Whereof if any man can justly claim anything of him, let them repair to the house of Capt. John Robbins and they shall be satisfied." Benjamin Aydelott and Capt. John Robbins were close friends and indications are that they made several round trips bringing immigrants to America, the last one in 1687, which Benjamin Aydelott, cordwinder, of Northampton Co. purchased from John Jones and Elizabeth his wife a 200 acre tract called Bridgewater; also acquired an adjacent tract, Reeds Contrivance, which was his dwelling plantation, on the south side of Pocomoke River. These were near Snow Hill, now Worcester Co., where he established and operated a shoe factory, as his will reveals; also owned parts of a shallop and a boat on the Seaside. He became closely associated with the Presbyterian Church at Snow Hill. His will reflects his integrity, intelligance, industry and love for his family.6,5

Marriage*25 December 1820Thomas Bonnewell married Rose Anna 'Nancy' Tull on 25 December 1820 at Somerset Co, MD. They were shown as Thomas Bonnewell and Nancy Tull.4
Anecdote*18 July 1839 On 18 July 1839 in Accomack County, VA there was a chancery suit of Ann Bonnwell &c vs. John G. Joynes &c. It was ordered that John Bull Jr. one of the defendants in this cause pay unto the hands of Thomas R. Joynes who is appointed a receiver for that purpose, all the moneys in his hands arising out of the Revolutionary Services of Thomas Bonnwell to be loaned out by the said Joynes for the benefit of the parties in this cause. John Bull Jr. was the husband of Betsey Bonnwell who was the daughter of Robert Bonnewell son of Betsey Bonnwell who was named as an heir of Thomas Bonwell in 1831 (Nottingham Soldiers & Sailors, p. 29) and was administrator of Thomas Bonnwell's (Rev. War) estate in 1835. For some reason Thomas (son of Betsey Bonnewell) is not shown in the order from Nottingham in 1831 as a son of Betsey. It is assumed that the reason he was not listed was that he had left Acc Co and they either overlooked him or did not now what became of him and that was the basis for the chancery case, thus proving he was a son of the Betsy who was named a relative of the Thomas Bonnwell, an officer in the Virginia State Navy.5

Est Settm't B-in-law*17 May 1735He was named in the settlement of his brother-in-law's estate on 17 May 1735 at Sussex Co, DE. Somerset Sampler shows that perhaps Mary Inloes was a daughter of John Hill, who signed Thomas Inloes' inventory as next of kin. However, since a Mary Hill, daughter of John could not be found, the assumption carried forward is that she had a brother named Johnson Hill, who signed as next of kin on Thomas Inloes's inventory.2
