He married (1) Philadelphia, 3 mo. 30, 1723, Sarah Robinson; married (2), between 8 mo. 28 and 9 mo. 28, 1752, Kebecca Evans; married (3), 11 mo, 9, 1758, Sarah Powell; died Philadelphia, 10 mo. 15, 1781. Jonathan, the Historian, lived on a plantation near the Germantown Road, described in Varlies' map of 1802. Sarah Robinson was born Philadelphia, 1706; died Philadelphia 5 mo. 29, 1745. She was the daughter of Richard and Sarah (Jefferys) Robinson. He was an Englishman, who had been captured by pirates and held in slavery in Morocco, and was redeemed by the Quakers. Rebecca Evans died Philadelphia 10 mo. 13, 1753. Sarah Powell was bom Philadelphia, 1711, and died Philadelphia, 1 mo. 21, 1792. She was Sarah Armitt and the widow of William Powell, of the Powelton Farm, who died 1735. He left issue son Samuel (now living); a daughter Elizabeth, who died in the year 1759, leaving a son and three daughters; Sarah, who died in the year 1769, or 1770, leaving four sons and two daughters, and Patience, who is now also deceased upwards of two years, having buried her husband, Isaac Paschal, about six months and left two daughters, now living, Ninth month 15, 1776.2

Land left*1787He left land in 1787 at tract N43, Eyre Hall, N'hamp Co, VA. It was in this year that Littleton Eyre left to brother John, to carry out the wishes of his father. Then in 1855 from childless John Eyre title went to his grand-nephew Severn Eyre, grandson of John's younger brother William.4

I give to my daughter Emily Ann Eyre three thousand pounds to be paid to her by my executor without interest when she shall arrive to the age of eighteen years or marries. I give to my son William Littleton Eyre the plantation I bought from the Kendalls where I now live and one half of my personal estate. I give to my son Robert Taylor Eyre my plantation called Hungars and the other half of my personal estate. I also give my sons William & Robert Eyre all my property in Norfolk. Should my wife prove pregnant after my death and have a daughter I desire she should be provided for in the same manner as her sisters, but if a son I desire that all my property not given to my wife and daughters be equally divided between my three sons. Should either of my daughters Sally or Emily Ann die before they arrive to eighteen years or marry the legacy of three thousand pounds given to said daughter I give in the following manner; to my Godson Severn Eyre Parker one thousand pounds to my niece Sally B. Parker one thousand pounds and to William Eyre Lyon one thousand pounds. Should either of my sons die before they arrive to lawful age or marry in that case I give his property to his brother or brothers. Should neither of my sons arrive to the age of twenty one years or marry then I give to my brother John Eyre the property before given to my sons. Lastly, I appoint John Eyre and George Parker executors. Signed, William Eyre. No witnesses. Recorded 9 Jan 1809. In probate the will was proven by the oaths of Thomas Lyttleton Savage, Peter Bowdoin and John R. Waddey. John Eyre administrator. No order to appraise the estate. No administration records.7

Est Settm't F-in-law25 June 1765Robert Small was named in the settlement of his father-in-law's estate on 25 June 1765 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as Robert Small when he qualified to settle the estate of John Fogg, who named a daughter Canady Fogg and a granddaughter Rosannah Small in his will.2 
Land bought*1766He bought land in 1766 at tract A135, between Bloxom & Mappsville, Acc Co, VA. William Andrews & his wife Susannah sold part of this tract to Robert Small, who acquired more of the Brimer land. In 1821 a survey of the land of Levi Small, son of Robert, showed that he had owned 154 1/2 acres and a mill between the two most northerly branches of Muddy Creek. The wester part of 79 acres and the mill went to Gillet Small, while the eastern part of 75 1/2 acres went to John Addison in right of his unnamed wife.3

Stuart proved his claim, so Haizlup was to pay him £4:00:00 (of Virginia) plus court costs. John Wise Jr attended two days as a witness for Stuart, who was ordered to pay him 50 lbs tobacco.1

In 1775 Arthur and Anne Emmerson sold 32 acxres to another William Hickman, stating that it was part of a larger tract which Emmerson had bought from Benjamin in 1753 by a General Court deed. The land retained by Emmerson was at the upper end of the patent, adjacent to 100 acres of tract A116, which he had previously bought; he died intestate and a son of the same name deeded 200 acres to George Holden in trust, for the purpose of a sale to pay the debts of the estate. In 1768 Holden sold to William Warner and 20 years later he and his wife Elizabeth sold to George Warner.3

During the same court term Thomas Groves, Admin. of the estate of Mary Groves filed her inventory valued at £36.9.0.5
