Death*12 January 1910She died on 12 January 1910 at 1315 P Street, Northwest, Washington, DC, at age 66. Lucy Willard, widow of Caleb C. Willard, died last week at the age of 80(sic) or more, in her home in Washington City. She was the Daughter of John S. Parker and Annie E. Parker of Eastville. She was born 3 Aug 1843. She was survived by sister, Miss Nannie Parker. The Washington Herald, 13 Jan 1910 - MRS. WILLARD DEAD - Stricken at the Family Residence in P Street, a member of a colonial family, a prominent Figure in Church, Philanthropic, and Social Life of Washington for a period of more then Thirty Years - Leaves Valuable Estate Inherited from Husband. Lucy Parker Willard, widow of C.C. Willard, died yesterday morning at 3 o'clock at the family residence, north-east corner of 14th and P streets, Northwest, after an illness of several weeks. Ten days ago her condition became alarming. She gradually lost strength and vitality and her death was expected. The best physicians of Washington were called, but medical science could not save her. Mrs. Willard had resided in the National Capital for the last thirty-one years. She was a prominent figure in the church, philanthropic, and social life of the city. She was a native of Eastville, VA, where she was born in 1844. She was a Miss Parker, member of the well-known and wealthy colonial family of that name, owning large plantation estates on the Eastern Shore. In 1879 she was married at Eastville, VA to C.C. Willard, then a widower with one daughter, Miss Kate Willard, now the wife of Surg. J.C. Boyd, medical director, United States Navy, residing at 1836 Sixteenth Street, Northwest. Mrs. Willard reared her step-daughter with every care and affection of a mother. Mrs. Boyd and her two children, grand-children of the deceased, Alice Willard Boyd and Walter Willard Boyd, are the sole heirs to the vast estate left by Mrs. Willard and her husband, who died in 1906, leaving property in the District, including the Ebbitt House and all the property on the south side of F street, between 13th and 14th streets, other property on the north side of the street and property in Virginia. It is estimated to be worth about $3,000,000. Mrs. Willard, prior to her marriage to Mr. Willard, was prominent in the exclusive social and literary circles of her section. She was a distant relative of the Lee family, the Upshurs, and other well known families of the Old Dominion. After her marriage in 1879, she came to Washington with her husband, since which time she had been identified with the philanthropic work of the Episcopal Church, in which she had been reared and to which she gave much of her time and means in doing good. She was a member of Epiphany Episcopal Church, being one the most devout communicants of that parish, taking a lively interest in all that had to do with the upholding of the congregation. She gave liberally to all church charities and was a frequent contributor to civic causes. She maintained an elegant home, dispensing hospitality to her friend in keeping with the history of her long line of Virginia ancestors, always discouraging publicity of her social entertainment and charitable work. While coming from stock of the colonial period, antedating the Revolutionary War, in which her ancestors won distinction for patriotic devotion in the cause of independence under Washington and bravery on the field of battle and eminent services in the halls of state, entitling her to membership in the women's patriotic societies of the Revolutionary period, she never connected herself with any of those bodies. She was not a member of any of the popular women's clubs, made up of the society women of the city. Arrangements were completed last night for the funeral, except that the list of pallbearers had not been determined upon. The obsequies will be held at the family home, 14th and P streets, northwest, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Randolph H. McKim, rector of Epiphany Church, will officiate. Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery will be private.5,6
Burial*Lucy was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Washington, DC.6

Eyre, born at Baltimore on 23 May 1871; Grace F. Eyre, born at Baltimore on 13 Nov 1872; and Mary Eyre born at Eastville, VA on 5 Apr 1875. I solemnly swear that I was born at Eastville, VA on 15 Aug 1831, that my father was a citizen of the United States; that I am domiciled in the United States, my present residence being at Baltimore, MD; occupation left blank; intend to return to the United States left blank. Sworn before Edgar J. Spady, notary public. The applicant was 58 years old, 6 feet 0 inches tall, grey eyes, heavy nose, small mouth, grey hair & red complexion.11
Death*9 July 1914He died on 9 July 1914 at Eyre Hall, Cheriton, Northampton Co, VA, at age 82. Mr. Severn Eyre of this county, a well known citizen died suddenly at his home, Eyrehall on Cherrystone Creek, Thursday afternoon at about 4 o'clock. He was sitting in his chair at the time he was taken ill and was dead before any aid could be rendered him. Mr. Eyre was a native of this county and was 83 years of age. He belonged to one of the oldest and most esteemed families of Northampton, his people having always taken a leading hand in county affairs. His wife who was a Miss Parker also of his county died a few years ago. He leaves one living daughter, Mrs. Wright of Baltimore and another daughter, Mrs. Taylor, died a few years ago leaving an only daughter surviving. Mr. Eyre was educated at the University of Virginia. He spent the greater part of his life here, but moved with his family to Baltimore a number of years ago and only spent his summers at Eyrehall after that. This later place he inherited from his uncle John Eyre, who was one of the most respected and beloved citizens of Northampton in his day. Mr. Eyre was a man of the highest sense of integrity and had little patience with the can't and time coming of the present day. He was one the wealthiest citizen of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, much of his money being invested in stocks and bonds elsewhere. The funeral over his remains will take place at Eyrehall, Sunday afternoon, July 12th, at 5 o'clock p.m. with interment in the family graveyard.2,12,3
Burial*Severn was buried at Eyre Hall, N'hamp Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as Severn Eyre, son of W.L. & M.S., 15 Aug 1831 - 9 Jul 1914.2

DeCourcy Wright, and to his granddaughter Margaret T., the daughter of his daughter Grace Eyre and her husband Richard B. Taylor, and now the wife of Henry DuP. Baldwin. A survey in this year showed 924 acres left, Severn Eyre having sold 315 acres in 1909 to John W. Nottingham, it being the south part west of the highway. By a family division, Mrs. Wright took the major part of the land while Mrs. Baldwin received the house and adjacent acreage.6
