Joyce Lewis, 84, of Saxis, wife of the late Vincent Lee Lewis, passed away November 14, 2016 at Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center in Parksley. Born on June 30, 1932 in Sanford, VA, she was the daughter of the late Carlton Guy Marshall and Edna Shaw Marshall. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Saxis Holiness Church. Joyce is survived by a son, Garry Allen Lewis, of Saxis; a granddaughter, Katie Lewis of Saxis; a brother, C.W. Marshall of New Church; Niece Debbie Moyer and husband, Jim of New Church; two nephews, Larry Chance and wife, Denise of Saxis and Guy Marshall of Saxis; a great niece, Kacey Chanov; a great-nephew, Jimmy Moyer; special friend, Harry Savage; and several other nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Friday, November 18th at 2:00 PM from the Saxis United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the John W. Taylor Cemetery in Temperanceville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Saxis Volunteer Fire Co, Saxis, VA 23427. Arrangements are by the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley, VA.

Biography*George may be the son of Solomon Esham and Grace _____ m. about 1782 but I have a tentative birthdate of 1790 for him. However if he was born in 1782 the year of Solomon and Graces marriage this would make him a strapping 20 year old in 1802 the year of George and Sally's marriage. I have a note that he died in Baltimore but no source for that. (Dean Hickman.)

Death*10 April 2015He died on 10 April 2015 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD, at age 68. Pocomoke City, MD-Born June 11, 1946, he was a son of the late Lennon and Margaret Linton Marshall. Sammy was an active member of the Crabtown Cruisers Car Club and the Lower Shore Family YMCA. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy Frost Marshall; two sons, Tracey and his wife Lisa and Troy and his wife Jeanien; six grandchildren, Lyle, Jocelyne, Sydney, Hayley, Bridgette and Lennon; one brother, Royal Lee Marshall; one brother-in-law, Ben Morin; one nephew Joseph and many loving cousins and friends. A viewing will be held at the Holloway Funeral Home in Pocomoke City from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 and a graveside service will be held, 2 PM Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in the First Baptist Cemetery, 2420 Old Snow Hill Road, Pocomoke City, MD 21851.
