It was ordered that William Matthews have 2/5 part, Benjamin Nock have 2/5 part and Betsy Mason have 1/5 part. (NOTE: Evidently William & Catharine Matthews' siblings Mary, Thomas & Charles Matthews were now dec'd.)2 
Land Division of*21 May 1801She was named in a division of land on 21 May 1801 at Accomack Co, VA. By virtue of a court order of March 1801, I Parker Barnes D. S. of Accomack County have on the 21st and 22nd day of May gone on the land of late of Thomas Mathews dec'd & surveyed & divided one tract of land Containing 175 situated on the head of Assawamon Creek & bounded as follows towit, On the N.E. by Burton Mill pond & the lands of J-Wharton late of Sackar Parker, & Bagwell Wharton on the N. W. by the lands of Betsy Mason, on the S.W. by the Branch called(?) which divides from the lands of T. Teakle late of Alex. Stockley & on the S.E. by the Main County road dividing from the lands where John Wharton now lives. Also aother Tract containing 83 near the head of Burton's Mill Branch & Bownded as follows, towit, on the N.E. by the lands of George Warner late of William Taylor, on the N.W. by the lands of Captain William Mathews, on the S.W. by a small branch dividing from the lands of Eyers Stockley & Solomon Burton late of J-Blake & on the S.E. by the Mill pond of the aforesaid Thomas S. Matthews (dec'd), for the plats, courses, distances boundaries & divisions & more particularly see the plat below.2

Land cause*28 January 1823She was named in a land cause on 28 January 1823 at Assawoman, Accomack Co, VA. That a certain Caty Nock late of this county departed this life in the month of October, 1810, seized in her own right in fee simple of a tract of land situate in this county containing 53 acres: and one other tract of land containing 16 acres, also the moiety of a mill stream and mill seat at the head of Assawoman; that the said Caty Nock at the time of her death left seven children, viz: your oratrixes Tabitha, now the wife of Robert Broadwater(sic), Mary, Elizabeth, Thomas, Joseph, Caty and Charles Nock, to whom the said land descended subject to the right of Benjamin Nock, her husband, as tenant by the curtesy; that the said Benjamin Nock departed this life in the year 1811; that the said Caty Nock & Charles Nock both departed this life in the year 1811 under age, intestate and without issue, so that the two tracts of land became subject to partition between the five remaining children of the said Caty Nock; that on the 31 Jan. 1817, the said Thomas Nock conveyed his interest in said tracts to your orator Robert P. Broadwater, &c. (NOTE: The original land cause does not show Tabitha as the now wife of Robert Broadwater.)8

He owned the 1/6 of Saxis Island on the north of the 2/6 that was being sold by James Wishart & his mother Hannah to Stephen Marshall of Somerset Co.1

Land deeded to*1767Col. William (of Parker & Mary Watts) Selby Sr. was deeded land in 1767 at tract A162, Jolly's Neck, Accomack Co, VA. In 1717 John Baily left the 500 acres on Euwamus Creek to his grandson Parker Selby, who was the son of his daughter Tabitha and her first husband Parker Selby, but at the time of the will, she was the wife of John Purnell of Somerset. 1767 James Selby deeded his interest to his brother William, stating that the land had been left by Parker Selby of Worcester to his sons James, John and William, and that John had previously sold his interest to James and William by a General Court deed. 1770 William Selby sold the southern 200 acres to Samuel Wilson, to become the second piece of woodland for A161 as told in that story. As also reported, in 1792 Selby bought the north 46 acres of A161 along the creek west of Selby's Bridge, and as will be reported later, he bought additional land to the eastward of him, and in 1821 he left the whole plantation to his nephew William Selby Tunnell. Selby's wife Sally later married a John Custis. In 1831 643 acres were divided among the heirs of W.S. Tunnell: this piece included at the east end a mill, which first had been called Selby's Mill and later Tunnell's Mill.2
