This record also mentions James Joynes, Sheppard Joynes and Betsey Joynes.5

It was in this year that John and Sarah Littleton sold 50 acres this tract to Richard Barnecastle, and in 1746 his son and heir at law John Barnecastle and his wife Agathy sold to William Litchfield and three year later he ahd his wife Tabitha resold to Thomas Riley. It was sold for 3,000 lbs tobacco and more specifically described as being between Back Branch & Guilford Branch being the plantation whereon John Littleton now lives bounded on the lands of Thomas Mills, Capt. John Bagwell, Edmond Baly Park and on the south side of a swamp on the land of Richard Jones, it being part of 400 acres of land formerly belonging to Madam Matildah West, late of this county dec'd.1,2

Land inherited*1715He inherited land in 1715 at tract A109, Guilford-Parksley, Acc Co, VA. The will of John Rew (wife Leshe) made no disposition of his share of this tract, but did mention a son Thomas, who seems to have inherited bith the John and Thomas Rew parts, which in 1735 he sold as 234 acres to William Arbuckle.2 
Anecdote*8 January 1724 On 8 Jan 1723/24 it was recorded that at the December court the sheriff was ordered to take Tho. Rew into custody for his appearance at this court to answer for fathering the child of Mary Lettleton, a single woman. After questioning him, the court ordered the sheriff to immediately take Rew into custody till he posted a bond to save the parish the cost of supporting the child and for his good behavior. He was also to pay court costs.3 
Anecdote2 August 1726 On 2 Aug 1726 Mark Littleton brought action for damages of £20 against Thomas Rew for assault. Littleton's attorney appeared as did Rew, who was granted time till the next court.4
