In 1799 Charles Gilding (son and heir of Charles) and his wife Peggy now sold the whole as 83 acres to Jacob. Then in 1814 the Extr for Thomas Jacob, son of Teackle, sold 85 acres to John T. Elliott.2

Land Division of*1765She was named in a division of land in 1765 at tract A69, S-E of Accomac, Accomack Co, VA. In 1722 Alexander (7) Bagwell (a brother of Henry (6) Bagwell), wife Neomy, left his part of this tract to his daughter Mary (28) Bagwell and in 1742 George Douglas sold this part to John Smith, saying it was the land he bought from Mary Smith. In 1753 John & Susanna Smith made a deed of gift to his brother William Robinson Smith for this land along with some from tract A70. In 1760 William R. Smith, wife Mary, left his land to his daughter Elizabeth. The widow Mary Robinson Smith married Fairfax Smith and 5 years later Fairfax as guardian for young Elizabeth, sued for division of her land from that belonging to her cousins Spencer and Charles Bagwell. The line was run the next year, beginning at the point in the middle at the end of the neck and extending westward to the west bounds of the tract, with the north half formally awareded to Elizabeth. She later married Thomas Custis.6

Parramore. My will is that all the property before given to my grandson shall remain in the hands of my executor until my said grandson shall arrive at lawful age or marry & that my said executor shall account with & pay annually to the guardian of my said grandson for his education the rents issues & profits of said property from & after the arrival of my said grandson to the age of twelve years. I give to my niece Sally Stran one Negro girl named Leah & the sum of five hundred dollars in cash provided she my said niece makes no claim on my estate for her services rendered in my family since she lived with me. Will - Grfath's*5 June 1815Thomas was named in his grandfather's will on 5 June 1815 at Northampton Co, VA. In his will Thomas Parramore Senr deviseed to son John Custis Parramore & his heirs forever, the tract of land where on I now live containing by estimation six hundred acres also the land I purchased of the heirs of Edward Ker dec'd supposed to contain one hundred & fifty acres commonly called chance purchase also the land devised to me by the will of my father supposed to contain one hundred acres also the privilege that belongs to me under the will of my father all which said lands & privileges on Parramore's island or beach. I give to my said son John C. Parramore the following Negro slaves, Isaac Senr, Isaac Junr, George, Daniel Senr, Daniel Junr, Frank, Joe, Harry, Edmond, Levin, Peter, Stoan, Rachael, Adah, Chloey, Sophy & John. I give to my grand son Thomas Parramore Parker the tract of land I purchased of James Ashby situate in the county of Accomack containing by estimation eighty four acres & adjoining the lands of Smith Stringer, Elijah Ames & Wm Edmunds- also I give to my said grand son two Negroes Sam & Edgar I also give my said grand son five thousand dollars provided nevertheless that if my said grandson should die under the age of twenty one years & without issue, in that event, all the aforesaid property I give to my son John C. Parramore. My will is that all the property before given to my grandson shall remain in the hands of my executor until my said grandson shall arrive at lawful age or marry & that my said executor shall account with & pay annually to the guardian of my said grandson for his education the rents issues & profits of said property from & after the arrival of my said grandson to the age of twelve years. I give to my niece Sally Stran one Negro girl named Leah & the sum of five hundred dollars in cash provided she my said niece makes no claim on my estate for her services rendered in my family since she lived with me. I give to my son in law William A. Parker one Negro by name Jeffrey. Lastly I constitute & appoint my son John Custis Parramore my executor. Signed, Thomas Parramore Senr. Witnesses: M. S. Pitts and Wm A. Christian. At probate administrator was John C. Parramore. Bond $30,000. Appraisers: John C. West, John T. Elliott, Major S. Pitts and William White Sr. No administration records.2

But for want of John's heirs said land to my son Custis, he to pay his sister Elizabeth and Henry Kendall £100 apiece. My Rood(y) branch plantation to be eq. div. by an east west divisional line between my dau. Elizabeth Bowdoin Kendall (under 21) and my son Custis. To my son Henry 200 A. formerly the property of John S. Harmanson (currently partly under mortgage of Mr. John Eyre). A 20x18 frame house with brick chimney and floor above and below to be built on Henry's land after my son John is 21, to provide for the removal of my wife Lucreshe so that John may take possession of his estate. At her death I desire that all my estate may be disposed of in the following manner; The plantation on which I now live containing by estimation two hundred & fifty acres it being the land which I purchased of Matthew Guy including a piece of land lying in a swamp bordering on the lands of John Eyre, Wm Scott & others, I give to my brother Littleton Kendall. The plantation which I purchased of Henry Guy containing by estimation one hundred and seventy five acres I give to Custis Kendall Junr son of John Kendall. I desire that at my wife's death the Negro woman Peg & all her children now in existence or that may be hereafter born should be equally divided between my nephews George & James Kendall. All the other property not before given which may remain at my wife's death I desire may be equally divided among my brother Littleton Kendall, my nephews John & Henry Kendall & my niece Elizabeth B. The said Edmund and William Johnson absconded from this state and enlisted themselves in the service of the British Navy on Board a Ship of War in which service they still continue. The said William has arrived at the age of 21. But now the Extr Priscilla & devisees Obediah & Susannah Johnson have taken possession of the slaves and refuse to permit the slaves to be divided. Therefore, it is requested that the slaves be equally divided. Answer: Priscilla Johnson and Obediah & Susanna Johnson agreed to divide the slaves.3

According to Whitelaw, in 1767 Obedience Parramore left part of tract N126 to the heirs of his daughter Hamutual Rodgers (husband Jackson) and her heirs were two daughters Keziah Rodgers who married first Eleazer Core and secondly William Bloxom. In 1793 after Keziah had married William Bloxom her part was divided, a son James Core taking the southern half and William Bloxom the northern. In 1794 William Bloxom and a second wife Mary sold the upper 34 3/4 acres to John Core and he and his wife Susanna resold to John Carpenter..3,4,5
