The Accomack Co Birth Register shows him as Sam'l Taylor, born 10 May 1874 in Metompkin Township, the son of Sam'l C. Taylor, a farmer living in Acc Co and his wife Sarah Taylor. His father gave the information..2

On his death certificate he was shown as Frank Taylor, a 56 year old married laborer, date of birth unknown, born in Accomac, VA, the son of Asbury Taylor (Acc) and Caroline Killmon (Acc). He died of bladder cancer. His obituary showed him as Mr. Frank Taylor, who died at his home near Guilford, March 7, aged 56 years. Funeral services were conducted at his late home by Rev. J.T. Edwards. Interment was made in the family grave yard. The active pallbearers were: W.E. Thornes, C.D. Taylor, J. Taylor, Dennie Taylor, Dorsey Thornes, Wilbet Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were James Teagle Annis, Brantley Ewell, Howard Roach and Herbert Morgan. He is survived by his widow, 4 daughters Mrs. Lelia Thornes, Poulson; Mrs. Bettie Collins, Pocomoke City; Mrs. Nettie Morgan and Mrs Maggie Morgan, Crisfield; 6 sons Frank Jr., Edward, William, Asbury, Arthur and Stanley, Guilford; 2 sisters, Mrs. Henry Killman, Guilford; Mrs. J. Taylor, Bloxom; 2 brothers, Lee Taylor, Makemie Park and Oscar Taylor, Guilford.5 
Burial*Cornelius was buried at Talyor Plot south, Guilford, Accomack Co, VA. The tombstone book shows him as Frank Taylor Sr. (b.c. 1875 f/o Frank Jr, overgrown). The burial site is located between Guilford and Guilford Creek, south of Ann's Cove Road (route 682) and west of its intersection with Ewell Road (route 675).6

It was on this date that the will of Tabitha Carruthers (decd) was proved by witness John Doe, who swore he saw deceased witnesses Mary Courtney and Thomas Slatter sign as well. The named executors being dead, Ezekiel Young and Thomas Riley (security: John Snead and Clement Parker) were sworn as administrators. Appraisers/dividers of the estate: Spencer Drumond, Smith Snead, George Melson and John Abbott Bundick (or any three).6 
Est Settm't Mother's27 June 1758He was named in the settlement of his mother's estate on 27 June 1758 at Accomack Co, VA. Thomas Riley and wife Elizabeth (attorney: Littleton Dennis) complained against Ezekiel Young, Thomas Wise with wife Wise (sic), Thomas Young, John Young (both minor orphans of John Young), John Only, Elizth Only and Tabitha Only (Charles Bagwell representing the last five). Ordered that Smith Snead, John Snead, Thomas Custis and Spencer Drumond (or three of them) divide the slaves mentioned in the bill and report next court. On 28 June 1758 it was recorded that in Thomas Riley with wife Elizabeth vs Ezekiel Young, Thomas Wise with wife Wise, Thomas Young, John Young, John Onley, Elizabeth Onley and Tabitha Onley, the slaves mentioned in the bill were distributed as follows: To Thos Wise and wife Wise – Negro Robin (worth £15) and to pay £3:15:00 each to the Rileys, Ezekiel and Smith Onley’s children. To Ezekiel Young – a Negro girl called Dilly (£15) and to pay £3 each to the Rileys, Onley children, John Young’s children and the Wises. To Thos Riley and wife – a Negro woman called Hannah (£35) and to pay £7 each to Ezekiel, the Wises, the Onley children and John Young’s children. To John Young’s children – £10. To Smith Onley’s children – £13:15:00. Costs were equally shared. Signed by Thos Custis, Spencer Drumond and Smith Snead.7

Anecdote8 May 1773 He was shown as a son-in-law Ezekiel Young in the will of Thomas Parramore.8 
Will*20 March 1784He made a will on 20 March 1784 at Accomack Co, VA. In his will Ezekiel Young gave to son Thomas Young 150 acres where I live, also 1/2 of my marsh & Islands. To son John Young all the remaining part of my land & marsh. To daughters Mary Millener, Peggy Young, Ann Young & Tabltha Young. Balance of estate to be divided between all my children. Children to be in the care of my Exrs. David Bowman, Thomas Parramore & William Stran Exrs. Witt: Thomas Lilleston, Henry Fitzgarald, Peter Melson. According to Whitelaw, this 150 acres was part of tract A88, the Richard Drummond part, between Parksley & Accomac on the Bayside, which Ezekiel Young purchased from Robert Carruthers Jr. as 250 acres, of which 150 acres went to son Thomas and the balance to his son John..10,11
