Land bought*1783He bought land in 1783 at tract A55, north side of Pungoteague Creek at the mouth, Accomack Co, VA. John Scarburgh sold 100 acres of this tract to Thomas Underhill and a few years later a survey showed 131 acres. The land was on the north side of old Renny's Gut, which soon when by Underhill's Gut and that has continued to the present (1951).21

In his will Thomas Underhill Sr. gave to wife Susannah whole est during her life, then personal estate to. be divided between my then surviving children, Thomas Underhill excepted. To son Thomas after his mother's death all my land where I now live. Son Thomas Exr. Witt: John R. Parker, Kendall Ames, Levin Smith.25 
Death*before 30 January 1797He died before 30 January 1797 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was proved.25 
Land left*1797He left land in 1797 at tract A55, north side of Pungoteague Creek at the mouth, Accomack Co, VA. Thomas Underhill (wife Susanna) left 100 acres of this tract to his son Thomas, who was the lieutenant mentioned in the 30 May 1814 Battle of Pungoteague, sometimes called the Battle of Rumley's Gut, which was the nearest approach to a major engagement on the Shore during the War of 1812. Lt. Thomas Underhill of the Artillery, who had charge of a cannon at his house.21
