Biography*There is some confusion regarding Edward and Eva J. Spence. The 1910 Census shows "Eva J." Spence, a daughter, age 6, in the household of "Hataway J." Spence, and there is no son Edward. The 1920 Census shows "Edward" Spence, a son, age 15, in the household of "Hathway" Spence, and there is no daughter Eva. It might be assumed that Edward and Eva were the same person. Edward Spence died at home on Saxis, 15 Jan 1928, of typhoid fever, age 23, and was buried in the Ellis Cemetery on Saxis. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 21 Jan 1928). Edward Spence, aged 33(?) years, died at home at Saxis. Funeral services were at the Saxis Methodist, survivors were listed (E.S. News, 20 Jan 1928). His sister, Dola, reported that he was Edward James Spence.
