In obedience to a decree rendered 22 Feb 1841 in a suit in chancery then pending between Noah G. Duncan & Louisa his wife plantiff vs Peter Corbin & wife et. al. defendants, I have surveyed the land in the proceedings of that cause situated in Acco. Parish near Pocomoke River (called Milligan Land) and ascertained the content to be 248.56 acres. I also laid out 146.802 acres of land and marsh on the wester side of said tract including all the buildings on the said land which is disignated No. 1 on the subjoined plat and which the Commissioners considered to be equal in value to 2/3 of said land assigned to the plantiff Louisa Duncan, wife of Noah G. To daughter Nanny Northam. The things conveyed me by Thomas Northam to remain in his possession during his life. Proved by John Northam and Rachel Northam. In the order of probate, John Northam qualified. (NOTE: After spending much time trying to sort out the first few generations of the Northam family on and off for many years, and without clear documentaton, it is assumed that the Thomas Northam named in this will was the testator's brother, that the Southy Northam named in this will was the son of his brother Thomas, and the John Northam who proved the will and settled the estate was also a son of his brother Thomas. Evidently the sale of the land purchased of Southy Northam, which he gave to his son William (evidently under age), had not been finalized and recorded as the next year (June 1759) the land was conveyed from Southy to William of Wm dec'd (age about 17 or younger). Then in Jan 1762 William of Wm dec'd (about age 20 or younger) chose Southy (his older cousin) as his guardian. Then in Dec 1766 William died (about age 24 or younger) and Thomas Northam (his uncle) was named administrator.)2

Death*30 July 1886Thomas died on 30 July 1886 at St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA, at age 56. This is the date shown in the family Bible and it states that he was aged 56 years, 1 month & 15 days. Howerver, county death records show he died on 31 Aug 1886 of consumption at the age of 36 (probably 56). He was the son of John J. and Sallie, born in Acc Co. He was a farmer, the husband of Eliz. Bayly. His son Jas. H. Bayly gave the information..2,4 
Burial*His body was interred at Onancock Cem, Acc Co, VA. He was moved to this site from the Bayly burring ground..7
