Ragon, 94, passed away at her Woodbridge home surrounded by family and care taker. Marguerite was born and raised in Alexandria and lived her whole life in the Northern Virginia area. Marguerite was an accountant for 32 years at the Department of Corrections Lorton Prison. Marguerite was also a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs for 70 years. Marguerite was preceded in death by loving husband Theos Paul Ragon, three sisters: Thelma Frome, Margie Rotton, and Helen Newcomb, as well as an infant brother. Marguerite is survived and deeply missed by son Harry “Skip” and his wife, Susan; grandsons: Michael V. and his wife Rebecca and Robert M; great grandchildren Samantha Jane, and Nolan Paul, sister Mary Carroll Holbrook and a host of other family and friends. Friends and family will gather at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Road Woodbridge Va 22191 on Thursday January 16, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A service will be held the next day at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home at 11 am. Interment will be held at Pohick Cemetery 9301 Richmond Hwy, Lorton, VA 22079 at 1 pm. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Suite 1700 Chicago, IL 60601-7633.4

Anecdote1917 According to a letter written by T. Paul Ragon on 15 Apr 1973 to Wilbur F. Paul Ragon visited his father early in 1917 before he went overseas and that was the last time he saw his father. When he returned from the War he could not locate him.

Anecdote*1917 Jesse began his career as a driver for a tannery in Westfield, PA. He took a chance and bought a hotel in Westfield and turned it into a garage which he operated from 1917 until 1934. When prohibition ended, he thought he could make more profit by converting the garage into a restaurant. He ran the restaurant until he sold it in 1936. 
Anecdote1938 In 1938 Jesse and his wife Grace moved to Williamsburg, VA and built the first modern motor court there, naming it The Carolynn. 
Anecdote1944 They sold the motor court and moved to Alexanderia, VA and established the Matteson Tourist Court, which was profitable during the War years. This is now the Mt. Vee Motel on Richmond Highway. 
AnecdoteMay 1951 After the War, they moved back to Williamsburg, VA and built The Tioga, another tourist court. In May 1951 their daughter Jane and her husband Lloyd came to help with the business. Threee days later Jesse had a stroke and eventually died. 
Death*1 March 1952Jesse died on 1 March 1952 at Williamsburg, James City Co, VA, at age 67.

Five years later he moved to Stokesdale, PA, as forman of a tannery there and the family lived in nearby Wellsboro. In 1895 when Frank Eberle, his sister Mary's husband, was dying he asked Frnak to take over the Eberle Tannery until his son Joe would be old enough to assume the management. Frank agreed. Joe took over the management of the plant in 1898 and Frank stayed on as forman until he died in 1923.1
